Bottled ayahuasca is an entheogenic brew that is prepared out of the banisteriopsis cappi vine and some other ingredients. This brew is more commonly used as the traditional spiritual medicine in the ceremonies of the Amazon basin and is known by a lot of different names.
The brew is used for more than 5000 years by the shamans or healers or teachers ayahuasqueros, which is used for the expansion of the consciousness. Also, now in Peru, it is used to help drug addicts as a substitute for the antidepressant pill.
This is the major source of the DMT, which is a neurotransmitter produced naturally in our brain from the pineal gland. DMT is responsible for the dreams in REM rest unconscious. DMT produced by our brains is known for the night dreams. This means that when the person falls asleep, meditate, the brain begins to secrete the chemical equivalent of DMT in ayahuasca and thus, the person feels like dreaming.
The effects of the ayahuasca tea are similar to the dreaming but with the full awareness of the content and helps them to provide sound sleep.

It is advised that the person with psychiatric disorders like schizophrenia should not consume the ayahuasca. Also, a person with heart problems must avoid the use as it could worsen the problem. The addition of other ingredients to the drug can lead to death as well.
